What to expect when visiting The Fen

Opening Hours:

The Clogheenmilcon Fen Car Park is open from 9:00am to 6:00pm during winter hours and from 9:00am to 10pm during summer hours.

Parking:

There are three car parks at the Fen. The central car park is located at the roundabout on the R617 and is the main car park. There is a car park at the east end of the walk accessed from a side road in Killeens. There is a third car park at the west end of the walk, located near a pedestrian crossing and near the children’s playground.

Parking is free.

The car parks are not monitored. You are advised to lock your vehicle and secure your belongings.

From Dublin: 265 km

Walking/Cycling:

The Fen is easily accessible on foot and bicycle from Blarney and by bicycle from Cork City via side roads.

Facilities:

Please note that the Fen does not currently have toilet facilities. The closest are in Blarney.

Playground/Gym Equipment:

There is a children’s playground at the west end of the Fen at the intersection of R617 and Castle Close Road.

There is adult outdoor gym equipment along the walkway at The Fen.

The Fen itself has a 2.5 km walkway from one end of the Fen to the other.
