Identification
A small duck with a short neck. Males feature a brown head with a striking green patch extending from the eye to the back of the neck, thinly bordered in yellow. Their bodies are grey with a horizontal white stripe along the side, a green speculum, and a creamy-yellow patch bordered by black on either side of the rump. Females are brown, streaked, and mottled dark, with a green speculum.
