Creeping Thistle

Frequently found along roadsides, in neglected areas, grassy fields, and cultivated land. Blooms from July to September. Enduring and indigenous.

Identification

Pink-mauve flowers, occasionally white, on short stalks, adorned with spine-tipped bracts. Leaves are deeply pinnate, grey-green, with toothed lobes edged with sharp prickles. Stems are upright and unwinged, originating from a creeping, spreading rootstock. Reaches heights up to 100cm.
