Plentiful along roadsides, in grasslands, gardens, neglected areas, and cultivated land. Blooms from May to June. A dioecious perennial plant native to the region.

Identification

The plant bears small red or pink flowers arranged in loose, upright spikes, with strong-keeled fruiting sepals appearing red. Its arrow-shaped leaves, ranging from 5 to 12cm in length, feature basal lobes either parallel to the stem or curving inward. The plant grows on erect, branched stems, reaching heights between 35 and 80cm.
