Identification

A vibrant, lively bird often spotted in gardens, particularly around nut feeders and nesting boxes. It features a bright blue crown, nape collar, wings, and tail, complemented by a yellow underside. Distinctive white cheeks are bordered by a dark blue line, with a white band separating the eye line from the blue cap, creating a unique head pattern. Its bill is short and stubby, while its legs are bluish-grey. Known for its acrobatic maneuvers, it’s frequently seen hanging upside-down on branches, pecking at buds or foraging for insects.
